The body of former President Obama’s Chef Tafari Campbell was found in a pond near Obama’s home on Martha’s Vineyard on Monday morning. The 43-year-old Campbell had been paddle boarding on Sunday evening when he suddenly disappeared under the water. There was a massive search and rescue efforts to rescue him but he was not found until the following day. Campbell who was a native of Martha’s Vineyard and had worked for the Obamas for several years was recovered from Edgartown Great Pond by divers of the police of Massachusetts. He was recovered from 100ft from shore at a depth of about 8ft.

Campbell was known for his passion for food and his commitment to using fresh local ingredients. In a released statement by the Obamas on Monday expressing their condolences to the Campbell family and friends ‘’Tafari was a beloved part of our family. When we first met him, he was a talented sous chef at the white house. He’s been part of our lives ever since, and our hearts are broken that he’s gone. Today, we join everyone who knew and loved Tafari, especially his wife Sherise and their twin boys, Xavier and Savin in grieving the loss of a truly wonderful man’’

The cause of the death is still under investigation while the authorities said there is no foul play.
