SANWO-OLU HOSTS OBA OF BENIN IN LAGOS

The lagos State Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu hosted the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba N’edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II at the Lagos house in Marina on Sunday. The Governor described the Oba as a ”king among kings” and said the visit was a testament to the commitment to cultural harmony and collaboration between Lagos and Edo States.

The Governor expressed delight on his X page which he titled OBA GHATO KPERE ISE, stated ”Honoured to host his Royal majesty Ewuare II of Benin, a king among kongs this beautiful Sunday at Lagos House Marina. He said the visit by the Oba reaffirms commitment to cultural harmony and collaboration of both states aadding that he was grateful for the opportunity to strengthen bonds and celebrate shared heritage. The Governor took the Oba to a tour of the J Randle Center for Arts and Culture showcasing the rich Yoruba heritage. The centre has an outdoor Theatre, public square, space for learning programmes, art installations, live music events, a permanent exhibition, library, training and conference rooms and a concession block for refreshment lounges, bleacher stand, lawn area, and a world class swimming pool.
