FRSC CREATES SAFETY AWARENESS

The PUNCH reports that the Sagamu Unit Command of the Federal Government Safety Corps organised a one-day workshop to sensitize drivers about road safety measures. The event was themed SPEED THRILLS, BUT KILLS, and it took place at Awolowo Motor Park in Sagamu, Ogun State.

Chief Route Commander Sule Okloho who is the unit commander of RS 2.25 emphasised the Corps tradition of raising awareness especially during the EMBER months about the inherent dangers on roads. He Urged drivers to exercise caution, maintain speed limits, obtain driver’s license and avoid route violations.

FRSC deputy Corps Commander, Ayodeji Oseni said ”the increasing trend of road accidents is largely attributed to drivers’ distractions such as talking or texting on mobile phones”. He provided insights into various safety aspects, including ”overloading, traffic signs, emergencies, road lanes wrongful overtaking, driving on walkways, smoking while driving on walkways, smoking while driving, and preventing accidents”
