According to the report written by Timothy Enietan Mathews in ripplesnigeria, a multiple road accident has occurred at Umunya Odumodu Junction along the Njete-Akwa expressway in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. The accident has left one dead and 12 injured. Two heavy-duty trucks, One Sienna commercial bus, one black Toyota and another unidentified commercial vehicle were involved in the accident which occurred at about 12.40pm on Saturday. The commercial vehicles were coming from Onitsha and are Enugu bound. The acting Sector Public Education Officer, Anambra state Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, Margaret Onabe confirmed the incident and stated that five drivers were involved in the accident which was probably caused by over speeding. The driver of the truck with registration Number LSD 339 XA lost control because of speed, causing multiple collisions of other four vehicles. 26 peoples comprising of 20 males, six females were involved in the crash, however, one male adult died while twelve were injured and thirteen were rescued unhurt.
