FRSC INDUCTS 180 SPECIAL MARSHALS IN IMO STATE

Federal Road Safety Corps has inducted 189 Special Marshals in Imo State today Friday 25th 2023 during a workshop with the theme “Volunteerism in road safety management: limits and possibilities’’ in Owerri. The Deputy Corps Marshal Angela Ajenge who represented the Corps Marshal at the occasion urged the new Special Marshals to represent the Corps in good light while abiding by the Corps’ guidelines and rules of engagement. The Coordinator of the FRSC Special Marshals, Mr. john Ugbebor commended the Corps for organizing the event and advised the new inductees to take advantage of the workshop to understand their relationship with regular Marshals for greater synergy.

The Zonal Commander of RS9 ACM Ocheja Ameh urged the new Special Marshals to give their best to the Corps in the areas of public enlightenment, traffic control and management of order on the roads and others. The Sector Commander of Imo State command of FRSC CC Evaristus Ebeniro said the 180 inductees were selected out of 225 applicants who passed the Corps’ performance evaluation tests. He advised the new inductees to selflessly dedicate themselves to duty while remaining obedient and compliant to rules and regulations guiding their operations.

The Imo State Coordinator, FRSC Special Marshal Happiness Ikechukwu Osuigwe thanked the Corps for providing enabling environment for the activities of Special Marshals in the state for its commitment to human capacity and development.

The highlight of the event was the investiture of ‘’Honorary special marshal’ on two people, Mr. Uchenna Nnabundo, a businessman and Prof Bertram Ozumba for their outstanding contributions to the Corps.

The Oath of allegiance was administered on the inductees by the sector legal officer John Ezeoke before the presentation of certificates of eligibility.

The event was attended by officials of FRSC from the national and zonal levels including representatives of security agencies in Imo State.
