CORPS MARSHAL MOURNS VICTIMS OF ANAMBRA ROAD ACCIDENT

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps Dauda Biu has condoled with families of victims of Onitsha_Akwa Expressway road crash in Anambra State. The PUNCH reports that the fatal crash occurred on Friday morning involving a Mitsubishi L300 commercial Bus with vehicle registration number XE 245 AWK and a DAF Leyland truck with registration number T-19094 LA at Odumodu Junction, Nteje. It was reported that five people lost their lives. The Corps Public Education Officer ACM Bisi Kazeem in a statement on Friday said the Corps Marshal called on commercial vehicle operators to exercise caution and be conscious of their environment whenever they drive and also to avoid driving against stipulated speed limit on all roads. The advice is to eradicate all incidences of road mishap arising from impatience and lack of mental alertness when on the wheels.

The Corps Marshal also commended FRSC officers for their prompt response to the distressing situation which led to immediate evacuation of the victims of the crash to Divine care Hospital Umunya and Chira Hospital for medical attention, and the clearance of obstruction to ensure free flow of traffic within the axis.
