I LOST MOVIE ROLES BECAUSE I WAS TAGGED UGLY – FUNKE AKINDELE
Funke Akindele has recounted how she was denied playing major roles during her struggling years because she was tagged as ugly. This was recounted by at the TokeMoments by Toke Makinwa. Funke said even the Yoruba indigenous movies denied her roles because of her physique. She said Iyabo Ojo a fellow actress helped her out several times during her altercations with film makers who turned her down because of her looks. She was told that she was not fine, she doesn’t have ass nor boobs and that made her cry a lot.
