MEDICAL DOCTOR OFFERS N100M SCHOLARSHIPS TO EBONYI STUDENTS

About 105 indigents of Ebonyi state has benefitted from N100m scholarship donated by a medical doctor and renowned philanthropist Dr. Gideon Osi who described himself as a beneficiary of scholarship. Dr. Osi, who is a medical doctor, is the founder of Gideon and Joy life and leadership Foundation, an educational and leadership program that has trained over 300 people. The beneficiaries of the scholarships were those with financial needs and academic potentials. Dr. Osi said at the launching of the scholarship scheme that it was dedicated to improving education outcomes in Nigeria. He noted that he understands the transformative power of education and is committed to helping other students achieve their academic goals by providing them with access to formal training across educational institutions in the country. He noted that one of the best ways to contribute best to society is educational empowerment. He reiterated that Education is like oxygen to the human body.

 ‘’when you educate the people, you are helping to reduce poverty. You are helping to reduce insecurity. This scholarship is our own way of giving to the society’’ he said.

The scholarship recipients he reiterated have one job, which is to focus on their studies and excel while he pledges to continue offering annual scholarships to help more students return to school.
