Dailypost reports that the Rivers State Police Command have arrested a man simply known as Alabo for inflicting machete cuts on a couple who are his tenants at Ekwulobia street in Mile 3, Diobu, Port Harcourt. He was arrested by detectives attached to the Azikiwe police Division. He was on the run after the incident and later apprehended after several months.

The incident happened on May 15, 2023 after one of the victims who is a lady Comfort Nwagadi turned down his love advances. Nwagadi recalled how Alabo ambushed her as soon as she entered the compound on the day of the incident. she said he used a machete on her for rejecting his sexual advances. That day she said she went out with her husband and came back around 8pm, they had no idea he was hiding at the entrance with a machete. As soon as they entered he started using the machete on her. Her husband got cut in his hand while trying to rescue her and since then both husband and wife could not use their hands.

They stayed in the hospital for two weeks and three days. The couple seek for justice as the culprit is in Illoabuchi Police Station.
