SEVEN INJURED AND ONE DEAD AT LAGOS-IBADAN ROAD CRASH

A lone accident has claimed the life of one person and left seven injured at Ogunmakin, along Lagos Ibadan expressway. The Lone accident involved a DAF truck carrying cattle reportedly occurred due to a burst tyre at about 6.10am leading to loss of control and eventual crash with 15 people.

The Spokesperson for Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State command, Florence Okpe disclosed this and said that there was another accident on the Long bridge of the Expressway involving a tanker carrying kerosene which fell and spilled its content on the road causing traffic snarl and diversion to ease the free flow of traffic.

She said that FRSC operatives managed the situation and the traffic was diverted to the other lane in order to remove the obstruction off the road, while the second crash at the long bridge involving a fallen kerosene tanker was managed too, no death or injury recorded on the crash. Another tanker has been called for trans-loading of the content, area is corned to avoid secondary crash and operatives placed in different points for traffic control.
