The FCT Sector Commander Corps Commander Mutaa Chorrie has stated on Thursday that 2500 regular Marshals and special Marshals have been deployed for traffic management in the Federal Capital Territory during the Yuletide season. This was disclosed while monitoring the special patrol along Dutse-Bwari -Kaduna road on Thursday. He said that 24 hour emergency centre has also been set up along the Zuba-Giri-Gwagwalada-Lokoja Highway while adequate personnel have been deployed to all four entry and exits routes into FCT to improve the free flow of traffic. He urged the leaders of Road Transport workers unions for support to ensure zero traffic accidents in FCT.

He urged all traffic rules and regulations to be obeyed and avoid crashes adding that more sensitization campaigns would be conducted in major motor parks and religious and recreational centres on road safety cultures. He admonished against intake of alcohol and illicit drugs and to respect the rights of other road users. Overloading, using phones while driving, speeding and dangerous driving are the main causes of road accidents that drivers should avoid.
