Dailypost reports that Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has announced that 800 personnel have been deployed for special patrol operations in Benue to ensure accident free Christmas festivities.

The Sector Commander of FRSC Benue, Stephen Ayodele said this in an interview and warned motorists plying routes in the state to strictly observe traffic rules and regulations. He said that the FRSC personnel were made up of both regular and special marshals.

He further said that the command has identified traffic gridlock areas and accident prone spots with the intention to give adequate attention to such places like Wurukum Roundabout, Benuelinks U-Turn, Modern Markudi road, Agan Toll Gate among others. He said that the command would do everything possible to ensure that road accident victims were attended to promptly.

He charged them against using worn-out tyres, avoid overloading, over-speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
