Kanayo Umeh reports in the Guardian newspaper that they have placed a three year ban on Mmesoma over the fake result. JAMB claimed that their system was neither tampered with nor compromised and maintains that Mmesoma’s result was fake. Consequently JAMB has barred her from sitting for the Board’s examination for the next three years. JAMB also restated its earlier position that the UTME result being paraded was patently fake. The Acting Director of Press and Publicity Fabian Benjamin on Tuesday explained that the falsified copy of result slip was for a caandidate named ASIMIYU MARIAM OMOBOLANLE who sat for the exam in 2021 and sored 138.

He said that the Mmesoma in her statement inadvertently revealed the rightful owner of the result she is parading when she pointed out that the QR code on the result slip showed the actual owner before she peddled a lie in an attempt to obfuscate the truth. He urged the general public to endeavour to scan the QR code on the result slip to see its actual owner before it was mutilated in order to witness the unassailable position of the Board on the claim to falsehood on the candidate. He also said that the board has stopped issuing Notification of result slips ater 2021 UTME due to falsification of results and has being issuing actual UTME RESULT slips since 2022 complete with candidate’s number. He also pointed out that it was only Mmesoma that parades the obsolete Notification of result.

Fabian stated that this is not the first time such fraudulent claims have been made and said the bthe board was sued for billions of Naira only for the lawyers to later apologize for their clients’ misadventure one of the cases was that of a candidate John Chinedu Ifesinachi in 2021 who threatened to sue JAMB for 2b damages only for him and his lawyers to tender an unreserved apology when the candidate eventually confessed in the face of incontrovertible facts in an open investigation observed by several national public institutions which included the Public Complaints Commission , National Human Rights Commission, Consumer Protection Council, Servicom and Media houses. The case he sated has been handed over to relevant security agencies for a thourough investigation to unravel the masterminds of the unfortunate scam. The board he said restates readiness for genuine scrutiny as this case would not be the first ime. Management of the Board urges members of the public to examine critically the issue at hand and avoid fake news trafficking.
