Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekesili recommends counselling for Mmesoma Ejikeme who was accused by JAMB of forging her 2023 UTME results. Following Mmesoma’s confession before a panel set up by the Anambra State Government. in her twitter account posted on Saturday, Ezekwesili said ‘I have just read the report of the committee set up by the Anambra State Government to investigate and report their independent findings on Mmesoma and JAMB saga. She said she is satisfied with the process of giving Mmesoma a fair hearing to enable the committee gather all facts. She further said that it as necessary to have independent evidence that the result was not only fake but was personally forged by her. She said there are usually syndicates at the center of perpetration of examination malpractices but not so with Mmesoma’s case. She implied that Mmesoma’s case has consequences and therefore supports any sanction imposed on her by JAMB as deterrent to all who participate in systemic exam malpractices within the educational system.

Oby Ezekwesili aslso recommends sustained counseling for Mmesoma by the family, School and Church to support her as she reflects on this tragic episode in order to make decisions that embraces values and rewards of effort while she eschews dishonest gains for the rest of her life.
