DOMESTIC WORKER KILLS EMPLOYER WITH PESTLE IN ANAMBRA

Punch Newspaper reports that an unidentified domestic servant has killed his employer who was a lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa. The incident happened after a domestic squabble and the servant used a pestle to hit him on the head. The incident happened on Friday night at Ifite. The employer was a lecturer at the Department of Psychology. The suspect said his employer asked him to cook rice and when he was doing that his employer came into the kitchen and asked why the plates were not washed. He said he did not reply and his employer asked him why he was not responding to his questions. He replied the employer that he usually had ear problem. His employer slapped him and he told him that people dont slap him because of the ear problem. His employer was angry that he was talking back at him.

His employer slapped him again and brought out a cain to flog him. He got angry in the process and fought back. He picked up a pestle and hit his employer in the head. The suspect first denied the allegation but eventually confessed after thorough interrogation. A family source was reportedly to say that when friends and relatives of the deceased were taking him to the hospital for medical attention, the suspect attempted to choke him to death right inside the vehicle where he was sitting close to him in order to conceal his atrocious acts. It was in the process he was being suspected. The victim who was still alive then used his last strength to mention the suspect’s name before he gave up the ghost. The suspect first accused the girlfriend of the deceased who visited him that night until he eventually confessed to killing his employer with a pestle. The suspect had gone ahead to bruise his unconscious employer with a knife to make it look like it was an attack from a third party.
