REMI TINUBU ASSURES WOMEN OF MORE APPOINTMENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Sen. Remi Tinubu has assured Nigerian women of more appointment under her husband. She made this statement during the merit award ceremony for inductees into Nigerian women hall of fame in Abuja.

Vanguard reports that the first lady was represented by the wife of the Vice President Hajia nana Shettima. She reiterated her commitment to the better lots of Nigerian woman saying she will not let voices of women down for supporting her husband and assured women of more appointments and opportunities.

The Director general Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development  (IMBNCWD) Dr. Asabe Valita-Bashir said that the award was in recognition of outstanding gender advocacies, Women with zeal, passion and commitment  in bridging gender gaps, dismantling barriers and forging a path towards an equal future. The women honored are champions for the upliftment of the cause of women, women who have been advocating for equal gender, justice and fairness in the society. They are recognized for dedicating their lives to empowering women, for inspiring women to dream bigger, reach higher and break free from the shackles of societal limitations. Women who embrace the spirit of humanitarian services, recognizing shared humanity and being a beacon of hope in times of adversity.

One of the recipients of the award Mrs. Moji Makanjuola lauded the efforts of the late Maryam Babangida towards women empowerment and her impact and contributions on the lives of the women who benefitted under her tutelage under her Better life for Rural Women Program.  62 persons were reportedly conferred with humanitarian merit award. Some of them are former governors kayoed Fayemi, Nyesome Wike, Aminu Tambuwal, Nasir El-Rufai and Yaya Bello.

Others are Mrs. Stella Omiyi, Dr, Kulu Haruna-Abubakar, Ene Obi, Moji Makanjuola, and Stella Okotete among others.
