FG INCREASES FEES OF UNITY SCHOOLS FROM 45K TO 100K

The Federal Government has increased the fees of Unity Schools from 45,000 to 100,000  according to the directive from the office of the Director of Senior Secondary Education of the federal Ministry of Education. Channels television reports that the circular signed by the Director of senior secondary Education Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, new students are expected to pay N100k instead of the previous N45k. This new fees and increment will affect all aspects and activities of the school and it includes tuition, boarding fees, uniforms, textbooks, deposits, ID cards, clubs, societies, sports and many others.

Channels Television news reports that on 11 July, the House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to reverse the increment of school fees in all Federal government-owned secondary schools. This followed a motion moved by Saidu Abdullahi (APC Niger) and Kama Nkemkanma(LP Ebonyi) who while moving the motion said the increment was causing untold hardship for students.
