LAGOS DEMOLISHES FENCES BLOCKING DRAINAGE IN IKOYI

Punch reveals that Lagos state ministry of Environment and Water Resources on Monday commenced the removal of perimeter fences located within two meters of drainage channels on Norman Williams, Awolowo, and Dodan Barracks drainage in the Ikoyi area of the state.

Kunle Adesina who is the spokesman of the ministry disclosed this on Monday on X handle.

He wrote ‘’Operatives of the drainage enforcement and compliance dept of MOE&WR on Monday manually commenced the removal of wall fences within the 2 meters set back of the Awolowo Rd, Norman Williams, Dodan Barracks Drainage collector in Ikoyi manually. This followed the expiration of served contravention notices and an additional grace period arrived at during a stakeholders meeting with the property owners convened by the state government.
