CHARMIAN CARR WHO STARRED AS LIESL IN THE SOUND OF MUSIC

She was born Charmian Anne Farnon on December 27 1942 in Chicago, Illinois second child to Actress Rita Oehmen and musician Brian Farnon. Her siblings are Darleen Carr and Shannon Carr. She was an American Actress and starred as Liesl Von Trapp the eldest daughter of the Von Trapp in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. As a young girl, she was a cheerleader and played basketball and never acting or singing lessons. Prior to her role as Liesl Von Trapp, she had never acted but rather she was attending San Fernando Valley State College studying speech therapy and philosophy. She was also working for a doctor when her mother arranged for her to audition for the role as Leisl.

She married Jay Allen Brent, a dentist in 1967, left showbiz for interior designing, and owned a design firm. She gave birth to two daughters Jenifer Brent and Emily Brent and divorced her husband in 1991. She was a grandmother to Emma and Derek. She wrote two books titled FOREVER LIESL and LETTERS TO LIESL

She died in September 17, 2016 at the age of 73 due to complications from a rare form of dementia.
